Facial Liposuction

Submental Liposuction - Excess submental (areas of the face and neck beneath the chin) pockets of fat on can be removed through submental liposuction. Liposuction is performed by inserting a cannula (a slender tubular instrument), beneath the skin through a tiny incision. The incision is usually located below the chin or just behind the ear lobe. A suction apparatus connected to the cannula removes the unwanted fat cells.
After the fat is removed, the overlying skin contracts (shrinks) to create a contoured appearance. The fat cells removed will not reappear, but the remaining fat cells may grow larger, depending on the patient’s postoperative lifestyle.
